About Octavia
Engineering became my life because solving problems often requires ignoring the standard textbook approach. After 10 years in defense contracting, I transitioned from Boeing to the classroom to focus on the mechanics of logic. I have spent 10 years refining how to break down statistics, geometry, and calculus for teens and professionals. Providing 10 years of professional experience means I handle everything from basic arithmetic to competitive math with precision.
My teaching journey started when I realized that abstract formulas remain useless without real-world context. Over the years, I have helped many students navigate these technical landscapes successfully. I find that most people struggle because they lack the foundation rather than the ability to learn. Working as an engineer until 2019 gave me a unique perspective on how to apply rigorous standards to everyday study.
I am now dedicated to showing you how these tools function in the wild. I enjoy hiking on weekends and finding order in chaotic systems.
