About Andrew
I am a computer engineering major with a large interest in math and math-related subjects. I am in my school's math club and enjoy participating in state and national math competitions. I've been tutoring other students for about a year in primarily Calculus, Precalculus and Algebra, and am always looking for new opportunities and students to teach.

- I typically tutor high-schoolers and college freshmen/sophomores in Calculus, Precalculus, and Algebra.
- I prefer to teach students in a way that they can truly understand the reasoning behind concepts and how these ideas can be derived, so that they will be able to recognize problems and develop solutions based on their own intuition.
- A core component of learning a subject is being able to grasp the foundation of each concept. Learning through pure memorization prevents a student from comprehending the "why" and "how" that surrounds an idea. In a lesson, I illustrate connections between the target concept, and ideas that are already familiar to the student, so that they can master the fundamentals and apply similar logic to future subjects and endeavors.
- Lesson plans vary, but it will always contain thorough explanations about the target concept, and how the student could have derived each idea themselves. I will help the student throughout the lesson, as well as giving them practice problems to ensure that they are mastering the topic at hand.
