About Charlize
Hello! My name is Charlize, and I'm a qualified Foundation Phase teacher with a Bachelor's Degree in Foundation Phase Education. I have experience teaching Grade 2 learners and am passionate about helping children discover their potential through patient, encouraging, and engaging lessons.
I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves to feel confident in their abilities. Seeing a learner finally understand a concept they've been struggling with is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching. I strive to create a safe, positive learning environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace.
I offer personalised tutoring in English Home Language/FAL, Afrikaans First Additional Language/HL, Mathematics, and Life Skills. Lessons are adapted to each learner's needs, whether they need extra support, help preparing for assessments, or an opportunity to extend their learning.
I teach in both English and Afrikaans. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to build confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning. I look forward to helping your child succeed!

I believe every learner has the ability to succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and teaching approach. My lessons are learner-centred, engaging, and tailored to each student's individual needs, learning pace, and goals. I focus on creating a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence.
I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans and can teach in either language. I offer tutoring in English Home Language/FAL, Afrikaans First Additional Language/HL, Mathematics, and Life Skills for Foundation Phase learners.
A typical lesson begins with a review of previous work, followed by clear explanations of new concepts using practical examples and interactive activities. We then practise together before the learner completes tasks independently, allowing me to identify any areas that need extra support.
My lessons are ideal for learners who need extra assistance, want to strengthen their understanding of concepts, prepare for assessments, or simply gain more confidence in the classroom. I aim to make learning enjoyable while helping every learner reach their full potential.
