About Amy
Hello,
My name is Amy, I'm 40 years old and I grew up in Newcastle, Australia.
I come from a family of avid readers and English teachers. And while I started my career in communications and public relations, I soon realised I had a penchant for teaching.
I have 5 years experience teaching English abroad, and another 3 years experience tutoring in ESL online for all age groups and levels.
Living and working in another country has really made me appreciate how difficult it can be to learn and use English.
So if you're looking for a comfortable environment to better your English skills, I look forward to hearing from you :)

Comfort is key with me. I believe there is a level of trust between student and tutor that can make or break a learning experience. I aim to make all my students feel comfortable to open up and the confidence to "give it a go", because that's how we learn.
Typically I run 10-20 minute sessions for speaking practice, or 20-30 minute lessons for reading practice. These times are flexible, but I find that the short sessions are easier for the attention span (particularly in children).
My lessons are open to children or adults of all levels, who are looking to improve their reading or spoken English.
