About Charles
My name is Charles, and at 29 I bring energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for teaching to every lesson. I am passionate about helping children enjoy learning and take pride in making my sessions fun, engaging, and tailored to each student’s interests. Outside of teaching, I have a strong passion for sport—especially football and cricket—which often inspires creative, active approaches to learning that help keep children motivated. I believe that when lessons are enjoyable and relatable, confidence grows naturally, and students achieve their best.

With five years of classroom teaching experience in primary schools and seven years of private tuition, I bring a strong blend of professional expertise and practical understanding to my role as a tutor. My background has given me a deep insight into how children learn, how to adapt lessons for different ability levels, and how to create a positive, confident learning environment. I have worked with a wide range of learners, including those who need additional support and those who thrive on extra challenge.
I hold a degree in Primary Education, which has equipped me with a solid pedagogical foundation and comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum. I am qualified to teach all subjects up to age 11 and specialise in teaching Maths up to age 16. This versatility allows me to support students in multiple areas of their learning, ensuring consistency, clarity, and tailored progression. I take pride in planning well-structured sessions that are engaging, clear, and matched to each child’s individual needs.
As a tutor, I am friendly, approachable, and professional, creating a supportive atmosphere where children feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks in their learning. I value strong communication with both students and parents, ensuring that progress is shared and goals are understood. My aim is always to build confidence, foster independence, and help every learner realise their full potential.
