Failure is the biggest teacher available in languages, taking time to let the student try and understand their own errors without help develops the sense of self-reliance faced with the difficulties of communication.
Providing interesting material helps captivate the students interest in the subject; for example oral comprehension, replacing standard audio clips (often very slow and articulate, which isn't always the case) I choose to show them clips of movies or series that captivate their attention whilst stimulating their learning curve.
