About Rachel
I am a highly experienced private tutor specialising in English, Philosophy, Drama and the humanities subjects. I can, however, teach all subjects to up to at least common entrance level. I ensure a thoroughly personal response to each of my students, focusing on nurturing confidence, structure and adopting an approach sensitive to the requirements of the individual. I believe that the child feeling understood by their tutor is the foundation to understanding the subject being studied. I have worked with children with dyslexia, ADD and other issues on the spectrum of learning difficulty and am not fazed easily. My experience has shown me that a good tutor/student relationship can foster a trust in which the latent talents of all young people can be identified and optimised. I pride myself on making sure my approach is always about the individual first and foremost and that the sessions are enjoyable. I have worked all over the world for a variety of people especially in Nepal where I was a teacher in a village school as well as a live-in tutor/mentor.
