About Stephan

Hi, I’m Stephan, a professional breakdancer from France with over 18 years of experience.
I’ve lived and trained in France, the US, and Germany, which has shaped a flexible, open-minded approach to learning and teaching across different cultures.
Alongside my full-time corporate role, I’m deeply committed to movement disciplines including breakdancing, climbing, and martial arts. These practices strongly influence my teaching style, with a focus on strength, coordination, body control, and creativity.
My lessons are highly personalised and adapted to each student’s level, goals, and learning style. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced dancer, I focus on building strong foundations while encouraging self-expression, confidence, and individuality. I believe breaking is not just about learning moves, but about developing your own style and understanding your body.
I teach in a structured yet supportive way, helping students progress safely while staying creative and motivated. I value diversity and believe that everyone has a unique path in their dance journey.
My goal is to help you grow not only as a dancer, but also in confidence and body awareness.
Let’s work together to unlock your potential and explore breaking in a way that truly suits you.

Lessons can take place in a gym studio at no extra cost, a convenient public space, or at your home, depending on what suits you best. I teach all ages, from kids to adults, and sessions typically last 1 to 2 hours.
All you need is comfortable clothing and water I’ll take care of the rest.
Each lesson is fully personalised and designed to help you build confidence, strength, and technical skill. We start with a structured warm-up and mobility work, followed by conditioning exercises specific to breaking to develop strength, flexibility, and body control.
From there, the focus is on your goals and level. Whether you’re a beginner learning the basics or an advanced dancer refining details, we’ll work on footwork, freeze stacking, flow, and transitions, helping you build a strong foundation while developing your own style.
My aim is not just to teach moves, but to help you understand your body, move with control, and progress safely so you can grow as a dancer and express yourself with confidence.

  • 1) What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

I started breakdancing when I was 14, after discovering it through a breakdance society in my middle school. Watching others perform instantly drew me in, and I quickly became serious about it, dedicating all my free time to training with friends. While some view breakdancing as a sport, to me, it's always been an art form that blends creativity and physicality.
  • 2) What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

I started climbing seriously just last February, and it has quickly become my favorite sport. It's a fantastic way to challenge my body and mind. Beyond that, I've always been curious about other forms of movement, especially different dance styles. I'm also deeply interested in martial arts, yoga, and physical conditioning, which help me stay flexible and strong. These activities complement my climbing training well, and I'm always excited to explore new ways to connect with movement and push my limits.
  • 3) What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

What motivates me in breakdancing is the blend of creativity and physical challenge it offers. Every session is an opportunity to express myself, explore new moves, and refine my technique. The thrill of pushing my limits and the joy of sharing my passion with others inspire me to keep practicing. I love the sense of community within the breakdancing scene, where we support each other's growth. Ultimately, it's the continuous journey of self-improvement and artistic expression that fuels my passion for this incredible art form.
  • 4) Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

One sporting achievement I'm particularly proud of is when I successfully performed a complex move that I had been working on for months in breakdancing. This moment not only represented my physical progress but also my dedication to mastering the art. The excitement of executing it flawlessly during a practice session reinforced my commitment to continuous improvement. It was a significant milestone for me and reminded me of the importance of perseverance and hard work in pursuing my passion for breakdancing.
  • 5) How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

My achievements and challenges have significantly shaped me as a sportsperson. Overcoming obstacles in breakdancing, like mastering difficult moves or performing in front of others, has built my resilience and determination. Each success reinforces my belief in the value of hard work and perseverance. Additionally, facing setbacks has taught me to embrace failure as part of the learning process, allowing me to grow and adapt. This mindset not only improves my skills but also deepens my passion for the art form and my commitment to continual self-improvement.
  • 6) If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

If I had the chance to go for a jog with a famous athlete, I would choose Bruce Lee, David Belle, or Su Bing Tian. Bruce Lee's philosophy on martial arts and self-discipline would provide invaluable insights. David Belle, as the founder of parkour, could share his unique perspective on movement and overcoming obstacles. Su Bing Tian's journey of breaking stereotypes as an Asian athlete in track and field would inspire meaningful discussions. I'd ask them about their training philosophies, the challenges they faced, and their views on the intersection of sport and art.
  • 7) How do you help people stay motivated?

I help people stay motivated by setting achievable goals and celebrating their progress, no matter how small. I encourage open communication, allowing them to express challenges and successes. By providing constructive feedback and fostering a positive environment, I aim to inspire confidence and resilience. I also incorporate fun and creative elements into practice, making the learning experience enjoyable. Ultimately, I emphasize the importance of self-improvement and personal growth, helping them find intrinsic motivation in their journey.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in sports?

What makes me a Superprof in sports is my extensive experience in breakdancing, combined with a passion for teaching and helping others achieve their goals. I focus on personalized lessons that cater to each student's unique needs, whether they're beginners or looking to refine their skills. My commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment, along with my dedication to continuous improvement, allows me to inspire and motivate my students effectively. Ultimately, I strive to empower others through movement and creativity in their athletic journey.
