Born and raised in France, I am a recent UBC graduate and experienced French tutor, offering lessons for all levels, helping with test prep, schoolwork, first steps into learning French, and more!

I met Guilhem in a geography class at UBC that we were both taking a year and a half ago. He mentioned that he was tutoring other ubc students in French.

To fulfill my bachelor of art’s language requirement I decided to take FREN 101. I contacted Guilhem and he began giving me weekly tutoring sessions. I found the course to be significantly more difficult than the French classes that I took in highschool but his patience with my shortcomings in the language and his extensive knowledge of its complex conjugation helped me immensely. His high proficiency in English was incredibly useful in bridging the gap between the two languages. He clearly explained and demonstrated the differences and similarities between French and English which proved invaluable in solidifying my understanding of the language.

He arrived promptly to every tutoring session, took responsibility of the study room booking, and ultimately improved my score in the class by at least a full letter grade. He was always respectful and professional. Despite his mastery of the French language, his warm and welcoming demeanour assuaged any of my embarrassment over my struggles with grasping French’s tricky grammar and conjugation.
