About Miranda
With a BSc in Chemistry and Environmental Science and 6+ years of teaching, I help middle schoolers fall in love with the basics of chemistry. I believe that learning should feel like discovery, not a chore. In my sessions, we explore matter, mixtures, and chemical reactions using fun, safe experiments. From making fizzy reactions in the kitchen to understanding the science of cleaning products, we connect chemistry to real life. I focus on keeping things visual, simple, and hands-on. My students not only understand concepts—they remember them. I welcome all kinds of learners, especially those who feel science is “too hard.” You’ll be surprised how fun and approachable chemistry can be. Together, we’ll explore how things change, mix, and react—with lots of laughter and learning along the way.

I teach chemistry by focusing on the “how” and “why” behind every topic. My method involves working through stoichiometry, balancing equations, and reaction mechanisms with a logical and hands-on style. I guide students one step at a time so they don’t feel overwhelmed. Complex reactions are broken into smaller pieces, which helps students solve problems more clearly. We practice a lot—because repetition builds accuracy and speed. Reaction kinetics is taught using simple language and real-world comparisons, like speeding up reactions in cooking or slowing them down in storage. I support future scientists, especially those drawn to biology and biotech. These students often need strong foundations in chemical principles, and I tailor my lessons to give them exactly that. With consistent support and thoughtful feedback, students build confidence. They begin to enjoy chemistry—and that changes everything.
