As a colleague and collaborator of Dr. Birgan for several years now, I have had the opportunity to witness her teaching in several different platforms and formats. Aside from the ease with which she can adjust to different expectations and styles of teaching (online, in-class, lecture, seminar, discussion etc.), what I find most impressive in her teaching is the ability to explain complex and difficult concepts with clarity and ample contemporary examples. Her command of socio-politics in different parts of the world (UK, Turkey, US etc.) also allow her to provide a versatile application of concepts and social theory that foster a critical approach.
