About Stefanie
My development as a young genomics researcher at the National Institutes of Health is something I like to share with others as an inspiration. I researched in the field of computational biology for about 4 years at a university level and at two institutes at the National Institutes of Health. I have helped students at UCSC apply to diversity programs that have served as their stepping stone to research experiences. I am available in the evenings for tutoring and I also enjoy helping students take steps in their careers as future researchers

I am very passionate about human genomics and health disparities. I have presented my research projects at multiple conferences and enjoy tailoring my talks to audiences. I have tutored college-level human genetics to students at UC Santa Cruz and have helped students pass this required course for their major. I am patient in helping others understand molecular biology concepts and enjoy discussions about it. I am receptive to feedback and learning about the styles of teaching students are responsive to.
