About Ujjwal
I am a passionate Biomedical Sciences researcher and educator with over five years of international academic and research experience across India, the UK, and Canada. I hold two Master’s degrees in Biomedical and Molecular Sciences and Microbiology & Immunology, and I have worked on projects involving virology, bacteriology, immunology, and clinical research.
Alongside my research background, I also have university-level teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at Queen’s University, where I guided students through complex scientific concepts and helped them strengthen their understanding through interactive learning and constructive feedback. My experience presenting at conferences, publishing research, and mentoring students has strengthened my ability to explain challenging topics in a clear, patient, and engaging way.
I believe that science becomes much easier when students understand concepts rather than simply memorizing information. My lessons are designed to be supportive, organized, and adapted to each student’s learning style and academic goals. Whether you need help preparing for exams, understanding difficult topics, improving assignments, or building confidence in biology-related subjects, I aim to create a positive and comfortable learning environment where questions are always encouraged.
I work with high school, undergraduate, and early postgraduate students in subjects including Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, and Biomedical Sciences. As a tutor, my approach is focused on making complex biological concepts simple, engaging, and easy to apply in exams, assignments, and research settings. With academic training in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, and Biomedical Sciences from both the UK and Canada, along with teaching assistant experience at Queen’s University, I understand that every student learns differently. I adapt my teaching style based on the student’s goals, background knowledge, and pace of learning.
My teaching methodology combines concept-based learning, visual explanations, active discussion, and real-world examples from research and healthcare. Rather than encouraging memorization, I focus on helping students truly understand the “why” behind biological processes. I also use diagrams, flowcharts, practice questions, and simplified summaries to make difficult topics more approachable and easier to retain.
A typical lesson usually begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by explanation of new concepts using interactive discussion and examples. We then work through practice questions, case studies, or assignment problems together to strengthen understanding and build confidence. I also provide study strategies, exam tips, and guidance on scientific writing when needed.
What sets me apart is my combination of international research experience, university-level teaching experience, and supportive teaching style. I have worked on research projects in virology, bacteriology, and immunology across India, the UK, and Canada, and I enjoy connecting textbook concepts to real scientific applications. As someone who has taught and mentored students from diverse backgrounds, I create a comfortable environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and learn without pressure.
