About Helena
Hello, I'm Helena.
A few years ago I realized I not only was learning for grades; I was learning to start seeing the world for what it really is: incredible. Now, I am University Scholarship student at the perfect school for me, double majoring in Biology with a self-concentration in zoology and English with concentrations in creative writing and film, as well as minoring in dance, music, and chemistry. And I am here to help you reach the grades you need for your dreams and help you find the core inside you that makes you enjoy learning.
Professionalism and dedication are at the core of my teaching philosophy. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can thrive and build confidence in their abilities. Through much trial and error of my own, I discovered some of the best techniques on HOW to study and Whether it's through visual aids, hands-on activities, or thoughtful discussions, I aim to make learning engaging and effective. Learning how to study also showed me the importance
in a personalized approach to learning. I adapt my teaching methods to fit each student's unique needs, ensuring that no two lessons are the same. Additionally, my background in both the sciences and humanities allows me to provide comprehensive support across a range of subjects, including biology, chemistry, math, and English.
In addition to my academic background, I have practical experience working with animals and conducting research, which has honed my ability to think critically and solve problems creatively. I am committed to helping my students achieve their academic goals and develop the skills they need for future success.
With my studies, I also balance writing my first novel, starting my own business, being an active member of the Equestrian team, boxing club, and campus dance group, member of our university's concert choir, training to become an actor and model, as well as other projects that require both self-discipline and creativity. I enjoy every second as doing so I feel I am living life! And I believe that joy lies in learning too - this world is a huge, fascinating place! It should be fascinating to learn about!

I believe in tailoring my teaching approach to fit each student's unique needs—no two lessons are the same because no two students are the same.
In the sciences, I can use visual methods (drawing pictures), tactile techniques (using objects around me), auditory explanations (speaking aloud, using metaphors), and other methods to convey concepts effectively. I guide students through one problem, then encourage them to attempt another independently, helping them identify key details.
For English, I review essays and provide writing and content suggestions, alongside exercises to enhance their skills. I share a variety of tips and tricks I've learned over the years, from essay writing to multiple-choice strategies.
A typical lesson involves encouraging students to tackle problems on their own or bring a concept they need help with. I adapt to each student's needs to ensure they get the most out of our sessions.
Here's a summary of what you can expect:
Teaching Method and Techniques: Visual, tactile, auditory, and customized approaches
A Typical Lesson Plan: Problem-solving, concept explanations, independent practice, personalized guidance
What Sets Me Apart: Adaptability, hands-on approach, and sharing practical tips and tricks
Who the Lessons Are For: Students from Kindergarten to high school, across various subjects and skill levels
