About Ben
Hello! My name is Ben and I am an undergraduate at the University of Oxford studying Biochemistry. I am currently taking a gap year between my degree and Masters at Oxford and so will be available to offer dedicated tutoring support this year (2021-2022). I am an active and enthusiastic tutor and will reply to all messages within 24 hours. I am extremely passionate about tutoring and take great pride in being able to play a small part in helping students achieve their academic goals. I have a plethora of experience of tutoring at both GCSE and A Level standard and have had a great success in helping students improve their predicted grades and achieve their desired university places. All of my lessons are carefully planned and can be tailored to an individual students needs to provide an optimal personalised learning experience. My teaching pedagogy revolves around giving the student the space to demonstrate their understanding of a topic for themselves through asking thoughtful questions and providing lots of practice to ensure that the student feels comfortable in the topic they have just learnt. I am an extremely active and enthusiastic tutor and approach lessons with patience and enthusiasm, being able to personally tailor lessons to each students learning preferences and needs. With my strong academic profile at GCSE and A level, in addition to my degree experience, I am in a strong position to guide students through tougher areas of the courses in a structured and accessible way. I have previously tutored students in both Biology and Chemistry A level, and it has been a pleasure to see how their final exam grades improved significantly. Typical lessons are one hour long, but lessons can be accommodated to any length that a student may require.
