About Manahil
I am an undergraduate student majoring in Biochemistry with aspirations of declaring a minor in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. I love to play basketball, watch a lot of psychologically thrilling movies, and hang out with friends. I have been tutoring for several years. I began tutoring elementary school students with my fifth-grade teacher. I was able to shift to working with middle and high school students, providing them with assistance with their academics and external applications for numerous programs. I have a strong understanding of how to approach different students and am great at breaking the ice with them so they feel comfortable asking questions. I am able to provide a safe environment that allows for the cultivation of fierce independent thinkers. I can't wait to work with you!

As a tutor, it is my goal to understand who my tutee is as a student. I am a firm believer in honing in on tools that one can employ while studying before embarking on the journey of studying itself! Thus, I like to experiment with my tutee to gauge what study techniques will work for them to achieve maximum understanding of the content. A typical lesson would encompass the following: providing background information about the given subject so that tutees understand the WHY behind a subject (this will be done through interactive slides that involve active student engagement as opposed to being lecture-styled), going through practice problems after the subject has been taught, providing tutees with practice problems, and reviewing those problems to address any lingering confusion. These lesson plans will be aimed at middle school and high school students.
