About Iskaoly
I'm a 26 year old urban planning student in Caracas, Venezuela. I've been an english teacher and tutor for the last 9 years, I've experience teaching inside the classroom, but also individual classes. I've tutored both children and adults through zoom lessons and activities, helping them lose the fear of speaking english, and I currently run a non-profit organization teaching english to children in touristics areas of Venezuela.
Spanish is my native language and a C2 level english speaker as well. As an almost college graduate, I'm very proficient in writing, speaking, grammar, for both languages. I believe my experience can teach people how to use the right words, vocabulary and lingo to communicate in a professional way, and also in a day to day basis. I have a 3+ years of experience working with american non-spanish speaking clients, in different areas, but my day to day life is in spanish.

I love taking students out of their comfort zone, but in a way thay they can feel motivated enough to try again next class. My teaching methods are different than just explaining a lesson, I like to do very different dynamics and activities, that invite students to engage in something entertaining while they practice the language, rather than just speaking or engaging in a simple conversation.
A lesson plan could look like a specific grammar topic, some pronunciation practices, examples, the chance for the student to do their own examples, but always at the end an activity, dynamic, game, or something similar so that not only they practice the language, but also lose the fear of speaking
