About Qinnan

I am currently an undergraduate student majoring in film, originally from Shanghai, China. I received formal training in broadcasting, hold a Level 1-B Certificate in Standard Mandarin Proficiency, and have also passed the bilingual broadcasting assessment at the Communication University of Zhejiang. I speak with a clear and standard Mandarin accent, and have a deep understanding of the structure, tone, and cultural context of the Chinese language. In addition to my language training, I also have experience in screenwriting, having written and edited scripts for several short films. This creative background has made me highly sensitive to the nuances of language—rhythm, tone, and emotional impact—and has strengthened my ability to teach expressive, authentic Mandarin. My Mandarin lessons go beyond pronunciation. I also teach vocabulary development, grammar, writing, expressive speaking, and provide insight into the cultural context and usage of Chinese in real-world scenarios. Each lesson is tailored to the learner’s level and goals, with a focus on interaction, communication, and confidence. Teaching Mandarin is a way for me to share the beauty of language and connect cultures.
