About Beth
- What kind of experience do you have? I managed an entire Drama department (GCSE and A-level) in a London Independent School for 4 years, and I have tutored independently for several years. I have worked in theatre and television extensively for over 10 years. Many of my students have successfully gained places at many accredited drama schools. Currently, all of my students have received distinctions in their LAMDA medal examinations. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes. - Where and with whom did you train? I studied at the University of Surrey and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. - Tell me about some of your current students. One of my long-term students is currently preparing for her Gold LAMDA award in Verse and Prose. She has thoroughly embraced our lessons and has spent a lot of time preparing and perfecting her pieces. She has received high distinctions in all of her exams and I shall miss teaching her once she has completed her Gold badge. However, she is considering taking the new Shakespeare courses, if time permits before she leaves for University. My youngest student has just turned 7, and we spend a lot of time creating our own characters and creating scripts and stories alongside the LAMDA syllabus for Entry Level courses.

I'm an experienced teacher and acting coach, specialising in voice and performance. I aim to motivate students and make lessons as enjoyable as possible, improving confidence and creativity. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach LAMDA for all ages. -Verse and Prose -Acting -Public Speaking -Shakespeare -Reading for Performance Drama school audition coaching & technique. Public Speaking and Presentation Skills. I also teach Drama and Theatre Studies, GCSE and A-level. - Tell me about your qualifications. I have a BA (Hons) degree in Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies, and I studied Acting at Post-Graduate level at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. - How much do you charge? For one-off sessions, I charge £50ph, but I can offer a discount if a block of classes are booked. - Where do you teach? I'm based in Highbury, which is very convenient for anywhere in Islington, Hackney and Haringey. I am also currently tutoring some students in Central London. I am happy to travel to your home to teach. I can also offer sessions via Skype, but I think one to one is more effective for practical lessons. - When are you available? I am available most weekdays from 3.30pm onwards. - Which ages and levels do you teach? My youngest current student is 6, and my oldest student is 19. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? All LAMDA courses and levels. - Describe your arrangements for online tutoring. I can offer Skype sessions very flexibly. - Do you have a personal message for students? Enjoyment is key. Beth is a great LAMDA teacher. My daughter really looks forward to her lessons and her confidence has grown since beginning lessons with Beth 18 months ago.
Beth has developed a wonderful rapport with her and prepares her for the LAMDA exams brilliantly. She is reliable, trustworthy and professional in all her dealings with us - we couldn’t be happier.From my experience with Beth ,she is a wonderful teacher who pushes her students to do the best the possibly can .I’ve had Beth as my teacher for over a year ,and she has helped me with not only getting my grade 7 distinction in LAMDA ,but has also helped me get into all of my acting college choices .Her techniques of teaching vary with ,certain classes being purely based on the technical aspects of acting and others being more centered on what her students need .
