About Archie
About Me: I’m a 23-year-old vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter with over 10 years of vocal training and a First-Class Honours degree in Popular Music from Goldsmiths, University of London. My musical practice blends technical skill with creative exploration, and spans performance, composition, teaching, and community-focused work. Professional Experience: In 2017, I performed as a vocalist for the UK touring contemporary dance production This Bright Field. In 2019, I released an EP of original music, showcasing my work as a solo artist across songwriting, vocals, and instrumentation. I’ve continued to write and develop my solo material, with new releases and live performances currently in progress. More recently, I became a founding member of the Welsh folk band Cara Elin, performing regularly and bringing a fresh approach to contemporary folk music. We recently appeared at the Roots and Rhythm Festival in Chichester, supporting artists such as Jon Wilks. Community & Local Projects: Alongside my professional work, I’m deeply involved in Brighton’s music scene. I host a regular Jam Night, an evening of collective improvisation held in pubs and bars around the city, creating a space for musicians of all backgrounds to connect and experiment. I’ve also performed at key local venues including Green Door Store, Hope & Ruin, The Brunswick, Folklore Rooms, Rossi Bar, and Pipeline, headlining sold-out shows and playing for grassroots festivals and events. These experiences not only fuel my own practice but also shape my approach as a tutor — encouraging creativity, collaboration, and self-expression at every level.

My Teaching Method: Lessons are shaped by your goals and musical interests. Through a blend of technical practice and guided experimentation, I help you explore your voice, build confidence in its capabilities, and unlock your full potential in a creative, supportive space. Experience: Over the past 3 years, I’ve led workshops in vocals, percussion, and songwriting at festivals and in educational institutions, working both with groups and 1-to-1. Lesson Lengths & Levels: 50 minute lessons. I welcome students of all abilities — from complete beginners to experienced professionals looking to bring innovation and depth to their practice.
