About Emily
Having worked with kids of all ages as a tutor, swim instructor, camp counselor, and babysitter, I am very experienced and capable of working with students from all backgrounds, ages, and levels. I utilize my background as a published journalist and UC Berkeley student of English and French literature and language, media, and journalism to help students become the best writers, readers, storytellers, and multi-linguists that they can be!

I always make sure to start a lesson with a brief overview of what we are going to be working on, as well as some relevant warm-up exercises. As the lesson progresses, I make sure to work collaboratively with the student by not only explaining but demonstrating via examples and content analysis. Because of my significant experience as a published journalist and writer, I am very well-equipped to help students with all forms of writing -- whether that be essays for their English classes, college applications, or creative writing. Additionally, having studied English and French language and literature, media, and journalism at UC Berkeley, I am highly qualified to tutor students in these subject areas. Finally, having worked with students across a variety of age levels as a tutor, swim instructor, camp counselor, and babysitter, I am able to work with kids of all ages and levels.
