About ATIF
I learned Japanese primarily by attending classes at the Japanese Culture and Information Center in Istanbul, and later mostly through literary readings. My interest in philosophy and literature, I believe, led me to approach the Japanese language and culture from that perspective. I have been immersed in Japanese since 2019. In 2023, I took the N1 exam and passed it on my first attempt.

I offer 5 different courses here. 1- Japanese Beginner (N5): For those new to Japanese or wanting to review N5. 2- JLPT N4/3: For those who have mastered N5 level topics and want to progress. 3- Japanese Reading: For those with N3 and above level Japanese knowledge who want to read Japanese (manga, short stories from Japanese literature, short stories translated into Japanese, blog posts, etc. fall into this category). 4- Japanese Literature Readings 1: Specifically for those who want to read Japanese literature from the late 19th century to before the 1950s (Souseki, Akutagawa, Tanizaki, Dazai, Ougai, etc. fall into this category). 5- Japanese Literature Readings 2: For those who want to select specific texts from what can be roughly called "Old Japanese Literature," from the Heian period to the late 19th century, and do detailed readings on them (Genji Monogatari, Tsurezuregusa, Oku no Hosomichi, etc. fall into this category).
