About Hugh
My name is Hugh and I have been teaching music for over 10 years, both 1:1 and in community music settings.
I perform regularly in bands of various genres; I make music for videogames on PC, PS4 and Xbox One; have had music performed by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra; and have recorded/produced music for bands and solo artists that have found their way onto national radio and Spotify Editorial playlists. I graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (BMus Composition) in 2014.

10 years+ Experienced teacher available for Electric/Acoustic/Bass Guitar lessons.
Relaxed, friendly and informal lessons tailored around the students musical goals.
Have helped students to pass grade 8 at distinction level but I'm all about finding what's right for you. Finding music fun is my number one priority for everyone.
Lessons can range from beginner to advanced techniques including:
-Open and Barre Chords

-Bass, Rhythm and Lead Playing
-Vibrato
-Stylistic playing for different genres
-Songwriting
-Playing and singing at the same time
-Theory
-Scale shapes and improvisation
-Solo-ing
-Slap Bass
-How to play fast
-Efficient practice
-Metal techniques such as pinch harmonics, two-hand tapping and sweep picking
-Recording and Production techniques using Reaper and FL Studio
Lessons take place in my flat in Dennistoun,
Zoom lessons also available and can potentially travel to you if public transport works out.
I am a BMus Graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and PVG Certified.
