Teaching Method and Techniques
My teaching approach focuses on clarity, patience, and confidence-building. I break math concepts down into simple, step-by-step explanations and use real-life examples to help students understand how math applies to everyday situations. I use repetition, visual aids, and guided practice to reinforce learning, while adjusting my pace to match each student’s learning style.
I also emphasize a supportive and judgment-free environment, where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. This helps reduce math anxiety and builds long-term confidence and independence.
Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson follows a structured yet flexible format to ensure understanding and progress:
Warm-Up (5 minutes)
Quick review of previous material or a simple problem to activate prior knowledge.
Concept Introduction (10–15 minutes)
Explanation of the new topic using clear language, visuals, and examples.
Guided Practice (15 minutes)
We work through problems together, step by step, with immediate feedback.
Independent Practice (10 minutes)
Student solves problems independently while I observe and assist as needed.
Review and Reflection (5 minutes)
Summary of the lesson, clarification of any confusion, and positive reinforcement.
Optional Homework or Practice Sheet
Light practice to reinforce learning between sessions.
