About Chase
Hi there! Thanks for stopping on in on my profile. I play (and more importantly, teach) the bass! I've been playing in a band based in COMO for awhile now and have been teaching students on and off in that time period :D I recently graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Educational Studies.
I hope we can be a good fit for one another's teaching/learning styles! Feel free to ask any further questions if interested.

My lessons are offered in 30 minute and hour long increments - I generally like to start with beginning students. I've been trained as a teacher, so I believe STRONGLY in building a solid foundation for the student that can be grown later on in their musical careers. Hence, why I prefer to start with those who are just entering their lives as musicians.
While I consider my approach to any sort of education as hands-on, no subject or skill (especially playing an instrument) can be mastered without practice. So in the time away from the student, I provide entertaining, beneficial practice material which will be reviewed and polished throughout the duration of our instructional relationship.

Was introduced to Chase through a family friend in the Fall of 2019. Our son (12) was persistent for years on learning to play the guitar (“to be just like the rockstars dad listens to on the radio!”). Tragically, my partner and I work in STEM professions and don’t have an inkling of musical ability to claim. Our son’s school district was equally unable to contribute.
I kept putting off “finding guitar lessons” on my to-do tracker, and thankfully enough, Chase fell into our lives. He, from all I can tell, knows his stuff from beginner to advanced (as he is in the industry). He has been dependable, patient, and very comfortable to be around. Our son not only has grown in his play, but looks forward to the next time he gets to see “guitar man chase”! I’ve learned a music joke or two to add to my tool belt from him, admittedly. Even during the times of Covid-19, Chase was flexible and accommodating to make sure we could continue get the lessons that worked best.
Chase had mentioned that he was starting to branch out and offer his skills more broadly, so I immediately hopped on the opportunity to give him cuddos and my personal stamp of approval. 5 stars!
Chase has been teaching me guitar informally for a while now, and WOW, what a guy! His teaching style is very flexible, so if something isn’t clicking, he always knows a different way of explaining it, and if there’s anything in particular you want to learn, he’s amazing at centering lessons around your requests. Highly recommend him, whatever level you’re at in your proficiency!
I've known Chase for five years and have seen his growth as a musician in real time. He can play both bass and six string guitar, and is more than proficient to teach beginning to intermediate level students. With a Bachelor's in Education Studies he also knows not only how to work with youth, but how to connect and ensure they understand the material at hand. I wouldn't reccommend anyone else to teach my kids the fundamentals of music.View more recommendations

As I do have another full time job alongside playing a couple shows a week with my band, staying on schedule is extremely important to me! I ask that if the student needs to reschedule our regular instruction time that I am given at least 48 hours of notice.
