About Alex
I am currently based in Oxfordshire (willing to commute into and around London). I work professionally and independently however remain friendly and approachable.
I have recently completed a 150 hour Master TEFL course achieving 97% (Grade A). This means I am qualified to teach English as a Foreign Language in over 50 countries.
In October 2018, I founded a theatre project which has enabled me to work with children and young adults worldwide. Since doing so I have gained experience working with vulnerable people - this includes working in orphanages and with people with special needs requirements therefore I feel I am able to sensitively tutor students with personal requests.
Further, I truly believe that motivation is the innovative to success - lessons should be fun and enjoyable to help to retain new learning, while maximising the students motivation.
I am confident teaching practically - using interactive activities to aid learning - despite this, I am also able to teach via textbook if that approach is better suited to the subject/topic at hand.
I am confident to tutor siblings/small groups together while maintaining equal guidance and attention. This is a skill I developed while leading dance workshops in the Philippines.
