I teach biology by focusing on evolution as the key to understanding diversity. Natural selection and speciation are core ideas that I return to often. Phylogenetics is used to map connections between species across time. I believe learning should be evidence-based, so I bring in fossils, DNA sequences, and comparative anatomy.
