About Kaiya
Hello! My name is Kaiya Forsyth and I am a Voice Music Education major at Indiana University of Pennsylvania! I am a Mezzo-Soprano that has experience in Classical singing, as well as Musical Theater. I have a passion for performing and teaching, and I strive to create a positive and safe environment for students to grow. Having gone through years of vocal training, I understand how intimidating this journey can be, but I promise together we can work to meet your goals! Whether you are a beginner looking to explore your voice or an advanced singer hoping to refine your skills, I am here to help you grow as an artist and vocalist. As a music education major with a focus on voice, my approach to teaching is rooted in creating a supportive and inspiring environment that empowers students to explore and refine their vocal abilities. Every student’s journey is unique, and my goal is to tailor lessons to meet their individual needs while fostering a passion for singing and personal growth.
My method focuses on building a solid foundation in breath control, vocal health, and proper technique, while also incorporating elements of music theory, diction, and interpretation. I emphasize healthy singing habits and work to develop the student’s confidence through constructive feedback and achievable goals.
ONLINE LESSONS ONLY
A typical lesson begins with a series of vocal warm-ups tailored to the student’s range and skill level. These exercises strengthen the voice, improve flexibility, and set the tone for the session. The next portion of the lesson focuses on repertoire, where we explore a mix of classical, contemporary, or musical theater pieces, depending on the student’s interests and objectives.
