About Chi
Hi, I’m Chi Westfelt, a vocalist, composer, and educator with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance from The New School in New York City. I’m an award-winning artist and a proud member of the DPA Microphones Artist Program. As a touring musician, I’ve performed across the U.S. and Europe at renowned venues and festivals, including the Harlem Jazz Series, Solar Myth in Philadelphia, and the John Coltrane Festival in New York, sharing the stage with legendary artists such as Reggie Workman and Dick Griffin. These experiences have shaped my musical voice and deepened my understanding of performance, improvisation, and artistic expression, insights I now bring into my lessons. I offer lessons in voice, piano (both classical and jazz), music theory, and audition preparation. I also have a background in vocal pedagogy and speech pathology, which allows me to support students in developing healthy vocal technique and long-term sustainability. My lessons are supportive, engaging, and adapted to each student's needs, whether you're just beginning or preparing for a conservatory audition. I’m available for both in-person and online lessons, and I teach all levels and ages. Let's make music together!

Hi! I'm an award-winning vocalist and composer with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance from The New School in New York. I’ve studied both classical and jazz piano, vocal pedagogy, and speech pathology, giving me a strong foundation in vocal health, technique, and musicianship.
My teaching style is warm, encouraging, and tailored to each student. Whether you're preparing for auditions, competitions, or just want to sing and play for fun, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow with joy and confidence.
Lessons typically include vocal warm-ups, technique building, repertoire work, and optional creative elements like improvisation, songwriting, or music theory. I also offer piano lessons (both classical and jazz), and I'm happy to incorporate ear training or sight-singing.
I’ve worked as a guest ensemble teacher at music camps and schools, and I always aim to create a supportive, playful, and inspiring environment, music should feel joyful, not intimidating.
I welcome students of all ages and levels. Lessons are available in person and online, so wherever you are, we can connect!
