About Alexandru
I am a visual artist with a complete academic background and a deep passion for pedagogy. My background includes 8 years of art high school, followed by a Bachelor's and Master's degree at UNARTE Bucharest. This solid education, coupled with an artistic activity recognized by national and international awards and exhibitions, allows me to offer a complete perspective on the world of art — from pure technique to curatorial vision.

My methodology and approach:
Art is not just talent, but a discipline that is learned through observation and rigorous technique. With over 10 years of teaching experience and over 20 years of art education, my approach combines the rigor of traditional academic methods (the study of form, value and color) with a deep understanding of each student's individual needs. At IARA - Ivan Atelier of Realist Art, I emphasize "learning to see" before "learning to draw".
My method is structured, yet adaptive: I guide the student through the logical stages of image construction, while providing the emotional support necessary to overcome creative blocks.
Structure of a typical lesson
Each session is a balanced mix of applied theory and practice:
- Visual analysis: we discuss the objectives of the day and analyze references or the work in progress.
- Technical demonstration: I paint or draw alongside the student to exemplify gesture, color mixing or geometric construction.
- Guided practice: the student works, receiving real-time feedback to improve the "eye" and technique.
- Review: we finish the class with a conclusion on the progress and steps for individual study.

La 55 de ani m-am înscris prima dată la un curs de desen unde Alexandru era instructorul! De la prima lecție am învățat de la el rigoarea, apoi perseverența în însușirea metodei (fie că erau tehnici de desen academic sau pictură figurativă, sau tehnici ale vechilor maeștri). Pas cu pas, Alexandru m-a învățat să "văd" detaliul, subtilitatea care te duce la perfecțiune. Tehnic, atent, răbdător, exigent, Alexandru îți poate deschide "ușa" către marea artă! De altfel, o vizită la o expoziție de pictură împreună cu el se transformă într-o lecție de istorie a artei, dezbateri filozofice și culturale, prin cunoștințele lui pe care nu pregetă să le împărtășească!
L-am cunoscut pe Alexandru, profesorul meu de pictură, printr-o recomandare și pot spune că a fost una dintre cele mai bune alegeri pe care le-am făcut. Este un profesionist desăvârșit, atent, răbdător și explică absolut minunat, pe înțelesul tuturor. Știe să creeze o atmosferă relaxată, care te face să vii cu drag la cursuri. M-a ajutat să înțeleg lucruri pe care înainte doar le intuiam și m-a făcut să progresez fără presiune, doar cu bucurie. Îl recomand cu toată încrederea — un om și un profesor extraordinar.
