About Brenda
Patient & Supportive Tutor for Students with Autism – Building Everyday Learning Skills Hello! My name is Brenda, and I specialize in supporting children and youth with autism to strengthen the skills they are learning in school—right from the comfort of home. With experience in inclusive classrooms and individualized support, I focus on making learning both accessible and encouraging. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my approach to meet your child where they’re at while helping them feel confident and capable. What I Offer: • Reading & Literacy Skills: Building comprehension, phonics, and fluency in a patient, step-by-step way. • Conversation & Communication Skills: Practicing everyday dialogue, listening, and social language in fun and meaningful contexts. • Printing & Fine Motor Skills: Supporting handwriting, letter formation, and classroom readiness skills. • Social Skills & Daily Living Skills: Guiding turn-taking, problem-solving, and positive interactions through role-play and real-life practice. • Customized Support Plans: Each session is tailored to your child’s unique needs, strengths, and interests. My Approach: I combine structure with flexibility—using visual supports, repetition, and encouragement to create a calm and supportive learning environment. I believe in celebrating every success, no matter how small, and helping students feel proud of their progress.

Rate & Availability: • Sessions are $40/hr. • Available Monday–Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. • Based in Calgary – available for in-person sessions at home or online depending on your family’s needs.
