About Tess
I am a college student at the University of Iowa. I am studying to become a physical therapist with a major in a biology related field; thus, I have taken many test alongside other med. students. I have found methods of test taking that work well for myself, and I would love the opportunity to be able to work with others to help them do the same. I grew up in a family full of teaches who always pushed me academically to do my best. I would love to continue on this passion for education.

My approach as a tutor consists of the following components:
- I believe that spending time and working hard to get an answer increases the likelihood of remembering the process and being able to apply it to future problem.
- Active recall is one of the best strategies for long-term storage of information. I have found it be the most useful method when it comes to memorization for college level med-realated tests.
- Every student is unique in their learning and memorization methods. Sometimes finding the best techniques is a process of trial and error. Tutoring can be an opportunity for an individual to receive the one-on-one attention that can not be provided in a classroom setting.
