About Vera
With 8 years of teaching and professional performance experience, I am an experienced violin tutor committed to helping students grow as confident, skilled, and expressive musicians. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the highlights of my career has been seeing students transform from uncertain beginners into confident performers capable of playing with technical precision, expression, and emotion. My teaching focuses on building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance.
I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide a holistic understanding of music. Lessons are customised to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a patient, supportive, and motivating environment where students feel encouraged to explore, experiment, and grow.
Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music in every student I teach.

I teach violin with a methodology centred on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to cultivate musicians who are technically skilled, emotionally expressive, and confident in their abilities. Lessons are fully personalised to accommodate the student’s goals, skill level, learning style, and interests. I combine structured technical exercises, improvisation, creative projects, and performance preparation to provide a holistic learning experience.
Motivation is the driving force behind my approach. I work with students to set short-term and long-term goals, track progress meticulously, and celebrate milestones. This not only builds perseverance and self-confidence but also instils a deep appreciation for the learning process itself. Students learn to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and to find joy in consistent practice.
Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive. Students are encouraged to ask questions, share difficulties, and discuss ideas openly, fostering a trusting and engaging learning environment.
Creativity is embedded into every session. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to explore their personal artistic voice and strengthen their emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice, respect for learning, and consistent effort, forming habits that guarantee long-term success.
In addition to violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing students with a comprehensive foundation in musicianship. This methodology ensures that students grow technically, creatively, emotionally, and intellectually while cultivating a lifelong passion for music.
