About Kaia
My passion for architecture stems from a lifelong fascination with how spaces shape human experience, inspiring me to pursue a B.Arch followed by an M.Arch in Urban Design. Over 10 years of teaching, I have worked with learners at all levels, guiding them to combine creative exploration with technical discipline. My experience spans conceptual development, model-making, and sustainable planning, which informs my teaching approach.
I emphasize patient, structured, and supportive instruction. Many learners begin with uncertainty about spatial reasoning or design execution, so I provide step-by-step guidance, practical exercises, and critical feedback. I encourage experimentation, independent thinking, and reflection, fostering both creative confidence and analytical skill.
Outside teaching, I actively engage with architecture through site visits, research, sustainability studies, and design competitions. These experiences enhance my ability to provide real-world context in lessons. Witnessing students transform ideas into coherent designs and develop confidence in their creative voice is immensely rewarding. Supporting learners to cultivate both technical expertise and imaginative vision remains the most fulfilling part of my work as an architecture mentor.

Architecture becomes inspiring when learners understand the interplay between creativity, functionality, and technical precision. My lessons focus on design principles, spatial reasoning, model-making, material understanding, and sustainable planning. I integrate visualization techniques, real-world examples, and structured exercises to cultivate both creativity and analytical skills. Students learn to develop concept sketches, 3D models, and design presentations while exploring the logic behind functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces.
Lesson structure is tailored to individual skill levels. Beginners focus on proportion, basic sketches, and understanding spatial relationships to build foundational confidence. Intermediate learners explore advanced drawing techniques, conceptual modeling, and design problem-solving. Advanced students engage in portfolio preparation, architectural narratives, sustainability strategies, and complex design integration. Each session combines creative exploration, structured guidance, and analytical reasoning to strengthen design competency.
Architecture lessons help students develop both creative expression and disciplined thinking. They gain skills in visual storytelling, problem-solving, and conceptual clarity. Many learners experience growth in confidence as they translate ideas into well-structured designs, connecting imagination with technical execution. My goal is to guide learners in cultivating a strong design identity, analytical skill, and creative vision that prepares them for advanced study or professional practice in architecture.
