About Elise
My journey into Architecture began with a deep curiosity about how buildings influence human emotion, behavior, and community life. This curiosity led me to pursue a Bachelor of Architecture followed by a Master’s degree in Sustainable Architecture, where I explored design solutions that balance creativity, functionality, and environmental responsibility. Over 10 years of teaching, I have worked closely with students from diverse backgrounds, guiding them through the challenges of architectural thinking with patience and care.
I believe Architecture education should be both structured and nurturing. Many learners struggle with self-doubt or creative pressure, so I focus on creating a supportive learning environment where ideas can develop naturally. I encourage open discussion, iterative design, and reflective thinking, helping students understand that strong design emerges through exploration and refinement rather than instant perfection.
Outside the classroom, I remain deeply engaged with architecture through design research, sustainability studies, and ongoing professional reading. These experiences continually shape my teaching perspective and allow me to bring real-world relevance into lessons. Teaching Architecture is deeply fulfilling because I witness students grow into confident, thoughtful designers. Supporting their creative and personal development is one of the most meaningful aspects of my professional life.

Architecture becomes truly meaningful when learners understand how ideas transform into spaces that affect people’s lives. My lessons focus on helping students grasp design thinking, spatial organization, material awareness, and visual communication in a calm and encouraging environment. I guide learners to explore creativity with intention, showing how form, function, and context work together. Each lesson emphasizes observation, conceptual clarity, and thoughtful decision-making so students develop confidence in their design process rather than relying on guesswork.
Lesson structure is carefully adapted to each learner’s stage. Beginners focus on sketching basics, proportion, scale, and simple conceptual development. Intermediate learners explore site analysis, spatial sequencing, material selection, and environmental response. Advanced learners refine project narratives, portfolio presentation, technical drawings, and critical design thinking. Every lesson balances imagination with structure, helping learners express ideas clearly and professionally.
Architecture lessons also support personal growth. Students become more observant, expressive, and confident in presenting ideas. Many develop patience, discipline, and pride in their creative work. My goal is to help learners grow into thoughtful designers who trust their ideas and communicate them with clarity and purpose.
