About April
I am a Math's Tutor who has recently graduated with a 2:1 Honours Degree in Mathematics and Mathematical Learning. Throughout my time at University I did not only build my own knowledge in Mathematics, but I was enlightened to the different ways in which to approach teaching and how to share information with others constructively through written work, presentation and visual aids.
I have experience with classroom teaching both at Primary and Secondary level. Teaching at KS2 and Secondary level allowed me to teach as a whole class lesson, as I found the further the students work their way through school, the more they liked to engage as a large group and work as a team to establish an answer, but also allowing me to work with individuals to pinpoint any specific area's of improvement.
Teaching at KS1 I would construct lessons in smaller groups to engage each individual and use more visual techniques to encourage their learning and understanding.
I also have enjoyed my experience home tutoring with one to one sessions as this allowed me to understand an individuals' goals on a more in-depth level.
I offer one to one tuition online from Primary level up to and including GCSE, as well as adults wanting to improve their mathematical knowledge; whether its for qualifications or to gain more understanding in this area.

I use XP Pen within my lessons so i can produce written content on a shared screen for both myself and my students to see and work on together. My lessons have an informal environment to not produce a classroom feel but to ensure my students feel comfortable to enable them to be themselves and feel confident to ask and answer questions.
I usually start lessons with a 'Starter' activity to recap the last lesson before moving on to the main content of the lesson. I work through a mixture of visual examples, asking the students questions throughout to confirm their understanding. I allow the pupils time to solve their own questions independently throughout the lesson.
