About Katia
My name is Katia (pronounced Katja). I'm 24 years old and a student myself. Because of this, I know how incredibly boring and/or difficult lessons, school, and teachers can be. I'm the oldest child at home and have one brother and three sisters, so I can be incredibly patient, but I also see right through the bullshit. In my free time, I enjoy knitting, gaming, and hanging out with friends. I also love animals; I have a cat named Rocky, who I consider one of my best friends. I also believe in "don't make things difficult if they can be easy" and "just act normal, that's crazy enough."

My help is for anyone who needs it, from primary school to secondary school to vocational or higher professional education. I can offer the following:
* One-off lesson or series of lessons in a subject that you find difficult:
- Mathematics: secondary school, vocational education and higher professional education 1st year
- Arithmetic: primary school, secondary school, vocational education and higher professional education 1st year
- Physics/chemistry: vmbo and havo/vwo first and second year (I have an MBO diploma as a chemical-physical analyst)
From experience I know that everyone learns and does in a different way and at a different pace, but I have nevertheless found a step-by-step plan that works every time and can be completely personalized.
* Step 1: Assess the situation.
What is the actual problem? Is it difficulty understanding, struggling with homework, sloppy mistakes, fear of failure, being too precise, or something completely different?
* Step 2: Try a different method or approach, preferably one that hasn't been used before.
* Step 3: Evaluate whether step 2 worked.
If it still doesn't work, we go back to step 2 or perhaps even step 1. If it does work, we'll finish this section and see if there are any other difficulties.
* Step 4: Make a plan to keep it going.
Well done, you're finally doing it! Now it's important to stick with it. Sometimes making a plan is helpful, and sometimes it's simply repeating.
This step-by-step plan always works. Now, doing it once is enough for some, and for others, we do it more often. Of course, I try to involve the student in this so they can learn from it themselves.
