About Etienne
I am a qualified anthropologist working in the ESL industry. My focus is on optimizing English learning by making it fun and interactive. Through my extensive experience I have identified cultural exchange as one of the major aspects lacking in proficient English tutoring programs. To effectively learn a new language, one also has to study its supporting culture.

My teaching method is largely based on heuristics. This means that I like to facilitate learning through discovery rather than lecturing, which tends to be boring. I base my classes on the needs of students by working on the skills we identify together as necessary for improving their English abilities. I am a firm believer in tailoring learning towards the individual, thus I develop a curriculum by choosing topics that reflect students’ individual interests in order to facilitate an optimal learning environment.
