About Jonny
English was my favourite subject in school; in high school I remember being the only kid in class excited to study Shakespeare. As I grew into adulthood, I discovered my love for poetry and hip hop, and I've been exploring it since. I've always been fascinated by how we can use language to convey meaning in creative ways, and I'm excited to share that with my students!
Writing is a hobby of mine: I studied Professional Golf Management in college, and that is my primary career. However, through my career I have two years of experience teaching kids. There is nothing about my job I love more than seeing someone improve and gain confidence in themselves.
Other important parts of my life include dogs, sports and mindfulness :)

New to tutoring but pursuing a career in coaching golf, my philosophy is getting to know the student and tailoring lessons to their needs and learning styles.
In poetry and essay writing, I value efficiency (saying more with fewer words) and purposeful use of literary devices. Writing is a form of expression, so I also believe in being as authentic as possible to connect with one's audience. I'm very comfortable teaching grammar but realize it is not necessary in every writing pursuit.
My lessons are for all ages! Anyone who is interested in learning.
