About Alex
I am a 19 year old Economics student at UCL, meaning it has not been long since I took public exams in the UK. This makes me especially suited to teaching the concepts as I understand the struggle and process of learning difficult concepts. This differs from classic teaching, with some teachers unable to understand the issues their individual students face.

I believe in teaching students in a way that helps them to understand the underlying concepts in Mathematics, rather than relying on memory and rote-learning to learn the subject. This will help students who perhaps don't respond well to school teaching. I also focus on exam technique and time management, two critical skills in Mathematics examinations. I have developed teaching techniques over the year I have been tutoring, with a strong understanding of the A-level and GCSE syllabus. I took Edexcel exams, and therefore naturally prefer these, but given the significant crossover I can teach for any exam board in the UK. I prefer lessons of 1-2 hours, as this reflects an exam in maths and the sort of time successful students should focus for.
