I am currently getting my degree in music education. I have been playing the cello for 12 years. I’ve been teaching cello privately for 2 years, and I taught orchestras, cello, guitar, and ukulele at the Weber State String Project for 2 years.

I teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced cellists with a focus on music fundamentals. I ensure that each of my students understands music theory, proper technique, and musicality. My students will learn scales, etudes, and repertoire from the Suzuki method books.

I have overheard Philip teach cello lessons. He goes beyond simply teaching the right notes and rhythms. He spends the time on the little things that help his cellists to have a beautiful sound and play their music with personality and life.
I wholeheartedly recommend Phillip as a cello tutor. I have known him since he began playing the cello and played with him in youth symphonies growing up. He is very talented, kind, and a good listener. He has a strong love for cello and puts his whole heart (and hardwork) into his music. Besides being very talented, kind, and a good listener, he has also been taught music theory and is a composer and arranger in his spare time. He is very good with tone, vibrato, and improv. Having this music enthusiast as a teacher is a wonderful choice to make and will help you learn and fine tune your cello playing in a detailed and beautiful way.
