About Global Politics
My name is Guillermo, and I am an active Senior IB Examiner, high-level academic, and formally certified pedagogue. Since 2022, I have served as an Examiner for Global Politics, a role that gives me an "insider" view of how the IBO’s assessment criteria are applied in the real world.
Unlike a traditional tutor, I see exactly where students lose marks and what differentiates a Level 7 script from the rest. I don't believe in just memorizing facts; I believe in mastering the analytical precision required to succeed in the IB Diploma.
My Background & Expertise:

The Examiner’s Cyclical Training Process
To ensure you master the assessment criteria, my tutoring system is based on a progressive and cyclical training process. This methodology is applied systematically to every unit of the syllabus and across all exam components (Paper 1, 2, and 3).
The process for each unit consists of three critical stages designed to bridge the gap between effort and a Grade 7:
1. Stage 1: Deep Practice (The "Open-Book" Foundation)
I provide a specific prompt or paper from my bank of official IB past exams. You have 48 hours to complete it using your notes and my course resources. The goal here is theoretical precision and perfect structuring. I then provide a first round of detailed marking, focusing on the quality of your analysis and the effective use of evidence.
2. Stage 2: Real-Time Simulation (The "Timed Mock")
Once the foundation is solid, we move to a high-pressure simulation. I send you a secure link with a specific question that must be answered within the official IB time limits (approx. 45-50 minutes per essay) without any external aid. This trains your brain to retrieve information and structure arguments under exam pressure.
3. Final Stage: The Examiner’s Feedback Report
After the simulation, I conduct a final marking session following strict IB standards. You receive a personalized feedback report where we analyze exactly what is missing to reach a Level 7. We don't just find mistakes; we build a roadmap to fix them.
