About Sharon
After over 30 years teaching theater in high school and privately, Sharon is a professional teaching artist and member of Teaching Artist Alliance. Her workshops specialize in directing, stage management, Acting the Moment, Character Development through the use of movement and masks, RASA Boxes, and Paper (or Trash) Bag Costumes. Sharon is also a professional director, stage manager, and actress. Some of her favorite acting roles include Grandma in The Addams Family, Friar Laurence in Romeo and Juliet, and Miss Hannigan in Annie. As a director, favorite projects include Footloose, Rock of Ages, Proof, and Steel Magnolias. Sharon served as the Artistic Director, Director, and Actress for Theatre West Virginia for 10 summers and is a professional member of the Educational Theatre Association. Sharon is currently the Nevada Thespian State Co-Director and is also a member of EdTA’s State Advocacy Alliance and serves on several national committees to further excellence in educational theater.

Explore how every great performance begins with a story! Ignite your creativity working on character development by connecting personal experiences and emotions to authentic performance. Lessons will build confidence, creativity and empathy as the actor discovers how to make the story of the play or song real.
Through improvisation, and the use of several acting techniques, private lessons focus on teaching students to tell the story of the song or play. And on finding the truth in the character they are portraying.
