About Marissa
I am a Division 1 athlete, so I have a very strong drive and am very passionate about all of my work. I am an accounting student at Iona University, and am about to start my second year. I have been tutoring for algebra since I was a freshman in high school, so I am going on my 5th year of tutoring.

I make learning algebra fun and engaging so students actually enjoy the process. Each lesson begins with a quick review of the previous session, then builds into new material while making sure the student fully understands each concept before moving on.
What sets me apart is my background as a Division I swimmer. That experience has given me strong discipline, focus, and time management skills, which I bring into every session to keep students on track and productive.
I specialize in working with elementary and middle school students, particularly those taking pre-algebra or Algebra 1, and I tailor each lesson to fit the student’s individual needs and pace.
