About Stephen
I have been a performing artist since the age of 10 (Native American stories and music) and have taught public speaking in collegiate (Cornell University, University of New Mexico, Santa Fe Community College, University of Northwest Missouri, Institute of American Indian Arts) and informal situations (Identity Project, Pojoaque Cultural Center, Six Nations Cultural Center and more). I harness my enthusiasm and expertise in online communication, teaching and storytelling to empower students of all backgrounds and ages to succeed in their academic studies, personal lives, and professional careers, particularly in spoken and written communication, as well as in interpersonal communication. Since different peoples have differing levels of comfort and familiarity with public speaking, I tailor my mentoring to the needs and skill levels of the people with whom I work of any age and/or background. I am passionate about tutoring, and truly look at every one of my students as magic waiting to happen. We typically meet first online through Zoom or Skype videoconferencing to determine the goals for each student and then decide upon the lesson(s) or sequences of lessons necessary to achieve those goals.
