About Tessa
I am a passionate piano tutor with 9 years of experience teaching students of all ages, including school children, college students, and working professionals. My teaching philosophy focuses on creating a positive, encouraging, and inspiring environment where students can develop both technical skills and creativity.
Over the years, I have guided students through recitals, graded exams, and competitions, helping them gain confidence and achieve recognition for their talent. My lessons emphasise technique, sight-reading, music theory, improvisation, and performance skills, all tailored to each student’s individual goals and learning style.
I aim to make piano learning an enjoyable, rewarding, and fulfilling journey that nurtures both skill and a lifelong love for music.

My teaching philosophy emphasises compassion, patience, and effective communication. I strive to create lessons that are engaging, interactive, and tailored to each student’s learning style. In piano lessons, I focus on technical development, sight-reading, rhythm, and musical expression, balancing structured practice with creative exercises that encourage exploration and enjoyment.
I maintain open communication, explaining concepts clearly, answering questions, and encouraging students to share their goals and progress. Supportiveness is at the core of my approach—I guide students through challenges patiently, celebrate achievements, and help them gain confidence.
I use this methodology for other subjects I teach, such as music theory, composition, and ear training. My goal is to nurture skill, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong passion for music.
