• 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

  At the young age of 6 years old, I began studying Piano in San Diego. At the age of 10, I was performing privately for family & friends! I soon began teaching music at the ages of 12 and 13, A local restaurant: Fiddler's Green, hired me as a Concert Pianist for Dinner at the Restaurant! I grew my company: Charlie's Piano Studio, LLC to allow me to perform piano for clients all throughout Southern California! My entrepreneurial personality has developed me into a more and more passionate music instructor and team leader!

• 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

  My favorite genre of music and specialty is Classical Piano. This type of music is very appealing to me from a music theory and ear training manner, the ancient composers are some of my favorite musicians of all time including: Mozart, Bach, Beethoven & Vivaldi!

• 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

  My Advanced Piano Lesson Packages are the most difficult music lessons that I can personally provide, this would include the student studying from my recent publication: Music Theory Handbook. We cover Composition, Improvisation, Arrangements & Transpositions in Classical Piano Music and Analyse Multi-Instrumental Pieces!

• 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

  Of the 9 instruments that I study and often teach, violin would be considered to have the highest potential in difficulty as the levels progress. Of the several instruments that I do not teach, wind instruments would have to be the most difficult as so much focus is required and coordination with the specific breathing methods used! I have many great recommendations for amazing wind instrument instructors, however.

• 5) What are your keys to success?

  My Keys to Success in the Music Industry and in my career as the Founder & CEO of Charlie's Piano Studio, LLC, would be:
  - Entrepreneurship,
  - Ambition,
  - God, Family, Business, and
  - Passion for Music!

• 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favorite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

  Although I am not one to spend the early hours of the morning at a bar, three musicians that I would dream of meeting would be the "Three B's of Classical Piano."
  - Bach,
  - Beethoven,
  - Brahms.

• 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

  One of my mentors and original music instructors whom I have studied with for over 12 years had a sign in her studio which quoted the philosopher Plato and read:
  "I could teach math, science, or philosophy, but I would rather teach music as music is the sum of every science." This is proven true as my music lessons directly lead to improvements in math (rhythm), science (sound) and philosophy (music theory.)

  I always treat my clients with respect in every detail and value my student's goals in studying and developing the "gift of music."
