About Brandi
As I have mentioned, I am finishing my 13th year as an elementary teacher. I have enjoyed every year and every student as I put a lot of emphasis on building relationships and connections. I am understanding that every child is different and learns differently. I have three children of my own and know that every child needs something different. I do not think that education is a one size fits all.

My lessons are multi faceted. I begin with an introduction which could be a review, fluency, or question to get my students thinking. I spend some time teaching a concept with examples and modeling. Students then have an opportunity to show their understanding which allows me to add on or revisit the concept based on my students' understanding. I love finishing lessons with activities, tasks, challenges, or games that bring it all together.
As in my classroom, when I tutor I build a calm, safe learning environment. I feel that student confidence is most important for my students. I want them to know they can do hard things, and they will be successful.
My experience is mostly in 5th and 6th grade in math, reading, and writing. I am also very comfortable with younger grades and 7th grade as well.
