About Tom
My name is Tom Murphy, I am 19 years old, living in county Sligo. I graduated from Summerhill College in 2024 and achieved 625 points in my Leaving Cert, including a H1 in math. I am currently not in college.

Online maths grinds for Leaving Cert and Junior cert students.
Typical lesson time: 1 hour
Delivered by a student who graduated with 625 points and a H1 in maths.
I aim to give my students a thorough understanding of the topics I teach them, rather than just a mechanical step by step guide.
A typical lesson:
- I message the student beforehand to find out what topics they want help with.
- Sometimes I might send out some questions to gauge their level and help me to prepare the lesson.
- We have an online video call, typically 1 hour long.
- I do my best to explain the topic using illustrations and examples on the whiteboard.
- I give the student some examples to try for themself and guide them through if they get stuck.
- (Optional) I can give the student some homework if they want some more practice.
