About Sahana
I am currently in my fourth year at Imperial College London studying Medicine. My interest in teaching grew during my A-Level studies. I took on the role of mentoring numerous GCSE students, which allowed me to recognize the diverse array of effective study methods tailored to each individual's preferences.
Subsequently, I embarked on a teaching journey at a tutoring center, where I tutored students ranging from 8 to 16 years of age. This experience heightened my enthusiasm for teaching as I built rapports with my students providing a space for open communication between us.

I am tutoring KS3 and GCSE Mathematics. Depending on your preference, lessons can span from 1 to 2 hours. I am a very open tutor and like to communicate with the students about how they prefer being taught. Drawing from my own learning journey, I've found that active recall and spaced repetition are highly effective techniques. I integrate these methods into my teaching approach, utilising tools such as flashcards, mind maps, and a variety of practice questions on the subject matter. Additionally, I will guide students through examination papers to ensure they are well-acquainted with the exam format.
In terms of my qualifications, I achieved a 9 in GCSE Mathematics and an A* in A-Levels. I gained experience by mentoring GCSE students in Mathematics over a span of 2 years during my secondary school years. Furthermore, I honed my teaching skills through my job at a tutoring center.
